Cherelle "Coach McMath" McKnight

Cherelle graduated from Howard University in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in communications, minoring in human development. Since then, she has gone on to earn a master's degree in education from Mercer University, a Georgia certificate for teaching, a gifted endorsement, a math endorsement, and a health and physical education endorsement. Cherelle has 13 years of teaching experience engaging students in the classroom, introducing new problem-solving strategies, implementing interactive lessons school-wide, and collaborating with other educators to maximize instruction. Cherelle was awarded Teacher of the Year in her first year of eligibility for maintaining an approachable atmosphere where he students thrived under her guidance. She also taught internationally, as well as virtually.

Cherelle's 20 years of experience as a tutor led her to create P.O.W.E.R. Academic Strength and Conditioning. She established P.O.W.E.R. to provide remediation, intervention, and enrichment in the area of mathematics. Cherelle believes strongly in relationship building, thus P.O.W.E.R. means, "Pursuing Outcomes With Engaging Relationships." She believes whole heartedly people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. Since starting P.O.W.E.R. Cherelle has worked with over 70 scholars, helping them meet and exceed their educational goals.


 As a life long athlete, Cherelle brings a strength and conditioning approach to build the academic muscles of her learners. She believes practice doesn't make perfect. Practice makes permanent. You don't practice until you get it right. You practice until you can't get it wrong.
